Amongst the ever expanding universal network, as flourishing tentacles grasp and feed through the labyrinthian corridors of time and space, Anna Myers has established herself as an aberrant creature composer.
Organic figures display themselves through an array of otherworldly realms, passing through living dreamscape dimensions. The great ether dominates their solitude and distorts their anthropomorphic nature, momentarily occupied for astral interpretation by the artist before retreating back into eternal obscurity.
Throughout her undergraduate studies at Lamar University, Anna focused on both drawing and printmaking. While working on her printmaking thesis, she further developed her enigmatic style of imagery with much encouragement by Prof. Meredith “Butch” Jack. After earning her BFA and leaving the printmaking lab indefinitely, she returned to the solace of charcoal and pastel. The experience with copper plate etchings had enhanced her illustrations and generated metamorphosis in new designs.
Soft sculptures have begun to emerge as advanced evolutions of the entities. These environmental manifestations are transported from the picture plane sanctuary, and discreetly prepared for human interaction. The first sculpture, ‘Porfe’ was accepted into the 2017 TASIMJAE (the annual juried art exhibition hosted by The Art Studio Inc) and placed third overall.
Further experimentations in both mediums are sure to evoke even more exceptional, colossal, and preternatural beings.
Thank you so very much for the watch and favorites!
You are so amazingly talented, my friend 😊
